Can anyone help me? ???
I am looking for details of Frederick George Taylor.
place of birth unknown
aged 25 on 12 Sept 1928 so born Oct 1902 - Sept 1903 (there are 8 in the BMD index)
his address on 12 Sept 1928 was Wayside House Piddinghoe
Father David William Taylor - known as William and mother Emily Louisa Taylor.
Fred was a RAF Scout in 1928 and served in WW2 (although i am not sure if he served with the RAF)
He didnt die in service but did die prior to 1977 and probably prior to 1972
His parents lived at 73 Highdown Road, Lewes East Sussex in the 1930/40's
Emily Louisa had a sister Mary Ann who married a Harry Jordan, I have a copy of the deeds for 6 St Nicholas Lane, Lewes where Harry Jordan and Mary Ann lived. Harry had a sister who married a Mr Pollard making her Mrs Pollard i do not know her first name.
Fred had a brother called Ron who had a son called Brian - they lived in Seaford East Sussex in the 1950's
Fred had twin sisters one of whom was called Ella / Eleanor she married a Mr White and they lived at 35 Newton Road, Lewes at one point.

Hi
Always difficult with people in the 1900s - especially if some of those you mention might be still alive.
I think if it was me I would write to the local register office for the births you found (not Southport) and ask each one if the child registered has parents David and Emily. They will not charge for this.
Once you know where he was born and get the certificate you will have Emily's maiden name and you have a chance of finding his parents in the 1901 census.
I assume you have been search the full BMD index (free on www.ancestry.co.uk) and not just FreeBMD?
Electoral rolls might help too. Lewes Record office will have those.

George TESTER and Sarah ?. Married Dec 1860, he is in FreeBMD but not her.
FreeBMD claims over 99% coverage for marriages in December 1860.
George's entry has been mistranscribed as Cuckfield when the image clearly reads Uckfield. But that shouldn't matter too much since they've got his volume and page number right.
Of all the marriages registered at Uckfield in December 1860 there are only two entries for women named Sarah, viz.
Holman Sarah Uckfield 2b 161
Thorpe Sarah Ann Uckfield 2b 139
Both have correctly transcribed volume and page numbers which don't match those of George (2b 137). However, it's possible (since they are similar numbers) that page 137 should be 139 or vice versa, due to one perhaps being incorrectly entered at the time the index was made (not the fault of FreeBMD). So if I had to make a guess just from the index, I'd say Sarah Ann Thorpe was the spouse of George. But I'd not be very confident about this guess.
Against this it should be noted that neither woman is on a page that's missing a male partner.
Of course, for certainty all that's necessary is to obtain the certificate.

Deeds of 6 St Nicholas Lane, Lewes
[from Scope and Content] Mrs Pollard had left 6 St Nicholas Lane to the occupier, her brother Harry Jordan, and her executrix executed an assent on 29 September 1939. He died on 31 August 1941 and his will of 30 March 1938, leaving his estate to his wife Mary Ann Jordan, was proved on 8 October 1941 by his executrix Catherine Florence Parrish, who assented to the bequest to Mrs Jordan, the occupier, on 20 November 1941. Mrs Jordan died on 24 December 1950 and her will of 4 November 1941 was proved on 8 February 1951. The beneficiary and executrix, her sister Emily Louisa Taylor of 73 Highdown Road, Lewes, wife of David William Taylor, sold the house for £550 to Florence Dorothy Ryan of Beaumont, Dittons Road, Eastbourne, wife of Harold Ryan, on 19 February 1951 (26-29)
Cheers for all your help

Thanks Ian,
I wonder why Frank JORDAN was listed as son whereas the other JORDAN children are listed as step children. do you think he is David MORLEY's child but was born prior to David and Ann being married? the possibilites are endless aren't they.
From this census piece you would assume that Ann was originally a BARRINGER before marrying a JORDAN who for whatever reason disappeared most likely death and then she remarried David MORLEY.
i know i need to confirm all this with the BMD index.

Yes that does help alot as there are so many David William / William David Taylors around and just Taylors in general i find it hard narrowing things down. it doesnt help that David was known as William either.
for example Davids son Frederick George was b. Oct 1902 - Sep 1903 but there are 8 in the BMD i applied for one birth cert. with the checking service but it wasn't him so £4. down the drain there!
I have had a look on IGI too but he is not there!
so thank you
Toni
-
this would also explain why he doesn't appear on the 1881 census as he was not born until 4 months later!
any chance you could let me have the full details for the 1891 census page on David William Taylor
Cheers

Ann BARRENGERS parents were Henry and Elizabeth. In 1851 they were in Dartford, and 1861 she was in Lewes aged 14 a servant.
She was still with David Morley in 1901, at St John Lewes

Andrea
-
I posted a message re the Buffs and lots of kind people gave me links! thanks
another small problem! can anyone find a maariage for Frederick George Taylor between 1945 & 1977 in Brighton?
i do not know his spouse name, the dates i have given are the earliest and latest dates possible i think the marriage was in fact between 1950 & 1970 but i have given years either side just in case.
thanks for all your help on here everyone you are true Stars ******

If no-one has time to look for this you can do it yourself - use the free BMDs on ww.ancestry.co.uk You can see the images of the pages in the books and search them for each quarter. It will take quite a time if he does not appear on the FreeBMD site.
Andrea
-
thanks, i did look on Freebmd but he didn't pop up.
i have been going through the ancestry pages but it taking a very long time i thought someone might be able to find it easier.
i started on 1945 and i have got to 1950 without finding him, i will look again later and keep people updated as to where i am.
so they are not duplicating / wasting their time
-
have now come across new information
look up for marriage in brighton no longer required at present
hope i didnt waste anyones time!
sorry if i did.
