Hi Searchers

I am looking for help with Roady (Roger) Ahearn? b 19 Aug 1894 Glenough, Tipperary. Father Patrick and mother Julia (maybe Ahearne). Any help on any of these would be greatly appreciated.

No luck so far!

Roady's mother Julia signed her marriage certificate as Ahearne - could be her new name or maybe her maiden name.

The spelling of Ahern, Ahearn, Ahearne changes constantly.

I have a summer house in Glenough and the Ahearne family are my neighbours. They have lived here for centuries and are directly connected to your query. The name Roady still exists in the family, and in fact he has just had his first child born.

I assume they are, as I think there has only ever been one ahearn family in Glenough. I hope to be down in Glenough at the weekend, so will talk to them then and revert next week.

Sorry but I have been away in France and only back. I did get down to Glenough, and yes, they are all the same family.
They are neither young or computer literate, and not really interested in pursuing any overseas ties. I think they may have had countless 'cousins' from Australia, calling on them over the years, and decided to opt out of the whole genealogical thing.
