There are a number of Tansley records in Blunham on the IGI. If you access it via
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm#PageTitle
you can isolate the extracted entries which are reliable from the member submissions which are not.

David

Morning Sam,
I do have the Blunham with Moggerhanger PR in my possession (why ? someone at the BFHS thought it'd be useful for our library). Anyway as David has pointed out, the baptisms & marriages are available from the IGI via the Hugh Wallis site. However there is additional bits of info in the PR that's not on the IGI, & the PR do also have burials.
Your Everard was son of Thomas & Eliz Tansley.
Seems they also had a couple of sons named Everet.
First one baptised 18 Mar 1771 - this one was buried on 20 March 1771;
& the 2nd one was baptised 26 July 1772; & not finding a burial for this one I assume that mr & mrs Tansley had an Everet & an Everard in the family.
Thomas was a widower when he married Eliz Underwood on 13 Oct 1760
Previously he married Anna Maria Williamson on 24 Nov 1755
& Anna Maria was buried 24 Feb 1760.
Cannot see any children of Thomas & Anna Maria but there are plenty from Thomas & Elizabeth from 1763 onwards.

I see this is an old thread but maybe someone is still watching:
Does anyone have any information on Elizabeth Tansley ( I believe born 1848 Ickleford, Herts?) married to James Prutton (b. 8 Aug 1855 Biggleswade, Arlesey, Bedfordshire) on 26 Dec 1874 Ickelford, Herts?
I would like to know more about her. I believe her father may have been Thomas Tansley but no idea who her mother is, her actual birth date, death date, siblings, etc.
Elizabeth Tansley is my husband's grandmother and we know nothing about her.
Her mother's name would even be helpful.
Thanks....MJ

Hello MJ
Just had a quick check of censuses. In 1871 Elizabeth Tansley is daughter of Thomas as you say, who is down as married but his wife's not with them (*) . Back thru 1861 to 1851 & Elizabeth is with father Thomas b 1819 Ickleford & wife Sarah b 1811 Blakeney Norfolk plus in household is a widowed lodger James Tansley b 1787 Stotfold (who most likely is James's father (1861 confirms this).
(*) In 1871 Sarah Tansley is servant/cook at Ickleford Mansion
From the IGI I find a marriage at Holwell, Herts on 30 Sept 1847 of Thomas Tansley, father James Tansley - to Sarah Kitwood, father Wilson Kitwood, who could be who you are looking for.

Thanks john-p.......this could well be the family. Just the 1871 Census has me puzzled as I have Elizabeth not getting married to James Prutton until 26 Dec 1874. If she had been married prior to Prutton would she still be married by her maiden name?
Also if Sarah were an inhouse servant I am assuming that was why she does not show with her family and shows with the household she is serving instead? Was it common for older women to live away from their families for employment? I think I need to check into commonalities of lifestyles of that period.
Thanks again...MJ
