Hi
I have a book of the memorial inscriptions for Carrington. I can't do it right now a sI have 3 children all wanting fed but I will look in it and see what I an find!
I also have family from CArrington and visited the village and churchyard and it is a really lovely place. It looks like it hasn't changed for 100 years! I have an old postcard of carrington i could put on for you as well.

While you are looking in the book for Leishmans, could I be cheeky & ask you to look for Collen or Collin as well?
I have just discovered that my 4x Great Grandfather William Lawson married Marion Collen/Collin at Carrington Primrose in 1809.I have no idea who her father was.
Thanks ;D

Hi
Sorry there are no leishams in the book. This might mean that their stone is now illegible or was never there.
There are quite a few lawsons though none of them match. I will put the name son and if any of them look as though they might be related let me know and I will write it out.
isabella lawson
John lawson
matthew lawson
james p lawson and jane fs doyle
annnie lawson
Also one on the ww2 memorial- peter w s lawson
You never know they might be related!
If you want me to look for any more names just let me know.

Thanks so much poppysmum.I will check to see if any of those lawsons could be mine & get back to you if so.I assume there were no Collens?

Thankyou Caroline
I had a look at William and Marion's children & they had an Isabel b 1813 & James b 1812, all the children were baptised at Pencuick & James married Jane Munro, not Doyle,so probably not mine.
Thanks for looking-as you say, there may be a connection later.I've only just started this branch of the family.
Much appreciated
Barbara :)

Is anyone aware of any burial records for Penicuik.
James Fairbairn one of my Great Great X grandfathers was the Schoolmaster there in the 1730s and was probably buried in St Kertigens yard?
From Richard Greene in Melbourne
