Hi all,
I have just recieved a death certificate for a family member who died at County Asylum Newminister Morpeth 1914.
The cause of death was General Paralysis would he have been placed in this hospital beacuse he had had a stroke or would he have had mental problems.

The Reecord Office (Woodhorn) have a book of admissions and discharges - the information can be very helpful.

General paralysis is usually a syphilitic infection of the brain causing a range of psychiatric problems.
