Nailsea seems to me missing from the census details for 1851 on ancestry. Does anyone have access to them?
I'm looking for George Gale born 1823, Portishead and his wife Ann, born 1821, Nailsea. They should have 3 children Elizabeth, Mary and Harriet.
Also, Elizabeth Wright born c1872 in Clapton in Gordano. Her youngest daughter was Mary born 1840 who may be still living with her.
Thanks

Hi Joburg
The elizabeth wright living next door may be ann gale's mother, so any information on her would be great. The Tickenham birthplace is possible, as the information I have on her isn't consistent.
Thank you for looking up the others.

I have ancestors listed as living on Goss Lane around the same time. Do you know if it still exists today?

I also have family on Union Street in Nailsea in the 1851 census: Richard and Anne Bygrave. As they were well into their 70s, I'm wondering if they lived at some sort of care establishment, run by the Church perhaps? Richard was my dad's great great grandad on his mother's side and was born at sea in 1776. His wife Anne Green was born in Compton Dando where they married and raised a family. I'd love to be able to trace Richard further back but it's not easy. My grandmother was called Isabella and her dad, brother and son were all called Valentine, which has got me thinking about the born at sea thing. TIA for any help.
