Could anyone tell me where in Dudley was Caddicks End? My g g grandmother was living there when she had her first child in 1853.

Hi
http://cmis.dudley.gov.uk/CMISWebPublic/Binary.ashx?Document=5448
Page 2 map shows it SW of Castlefoot Glass and NW of the Gas Works amnd to the East of the Dudley canal tunnel and shows a Windmill and an Iron Furnace in the area.
I haven't been able to pinpoint it on a modern map (Yet)

Thanks very much for that! Doesn't sound like it was a particularly pleasant place to live at that time.

Your right Brix1961 Dudley and the whole of the Black Country was not a pleasant place to live in 1853. I doubt the Gas Works were there then, but even so the area was full of mines, iron works, blast furnaces, the air was full of grime, but this is what gave the area it's unique and colourful history.
