Dear Maddy,
I do not want to put you to any trouble but if there is a will index that covers 1941-42+, could you please let me know. I am looking for a will for:
Edward Carling WAREHAM who died 30 Dec 1941 at 27 Mayfield Terr., Edinburgh
I know he left his house to his housekeeper/2nd wife, but there are unconfirmed stories of the existence of a son and a grandson, which I am hoping to prove.
Should his name appear in the Will Index, I know I wont do $40 cold paying a researcher to obtain the full copy. Thank you, Gazania

Dear Maddy, if you get the chance I would really appreciate if you could look up,
DONALDSON George, born October 1847, Edinburgh.
On 1851 census he was living in Barony Glasgow and his pob was listed as Midlothian Edinburgh.
I realise there are a lot of parishes in Edinburgh, so please only do, if you have the time.
One thing I noticed that one of the OPR is Penicuik, just a thought, his granny was Mary Pennicuik, maybe a co-incidence ???
Bye for now
Helen

Oops sorry. Please disregard my request for the will index for Wareham which I have just realised is held at the National Archives of Scotland not at Register House. Thank you though for your very kind offer. Gazania. (a dim aussie)

Unfortunately I know nothing at all about Scottish records, or what is held where.
I have a new family that I have recently identified and need to track down, however.
Thomas ARMSTRONG, born about 1794
and his wife Agnes (maiden name unknown) born somewhere around 1797-1800.
They were Presbyterians.
I don't know if they married in Scotland or after they emigrated. I don't know where they came from in Scotland - no idea at all. They first show up in Canada in 1828, married.
I would fully understand if this is not something you are able to help with, but, as I said, I do not yet know anything about Scottish records, and did not want to miss out on your kind offer, if applicable.
Thanks for offering.

Hi Maddy,
Thank you for you kind offer. Iam a bit like loo and don't know a great deal on what records are held at Register House but would appreciate it if you would be able to look up a marriage of Angus McIver to Mary Mackay probably about 1790-1796 in Uig. I have very little on them other than they had a son Donald in 1797.
Thanks a lot
Kind regards
Mariac

Hi Maddy
I hope I'm not too late to take you up on your very kind offer.
Annual Calender of Confirmations.
I have received a reply from HMCS York stating that the Will I am researching was a Scottish Confirmation sealed London 13 Feb 1932 and that sealed confirmations are no longer stored in England & Wales.
They sugested that The General Register House, Edinburgh should hold the information I am looking for, but coming from down south distance is a problem.
My ancestors name was a Major Harry Moore he died 16 Nov 1931 @ Thomas Street, Carnoustie. Executor of his estate was a D.S.Nicoll, 2 India Buildings, Dundee.
Any help or information would be great.
Steve

Found Thomas Armstrong married Agnes Hgg 30/11/1838
Thanks so much for the time and effort on our behalf, especially with a sick child!
This wouldn't be my Thomas and Agnes, as they had already had 3 babies in Canada by then.
But they may be related somehow. Can you tell me what Hgg stands for? (Pardon my ignorance!) If I get a clue as to what part of the country they may have been in, that might help.
Thanks again.

Oops soryy my mistake it's Hogg Agnes Hogg

Thank you for looking up the Warehams. Margaret & Reginald Collinswood had no kids but supposed to have reared Margaret's nephew - the mystery child.
