I have a Frances Facy born Egloskerry who by census returns would be born ~1807 her age at death (married name Hexter) would put her born1803.
Back in the 1980's when my relative was putting this arm together found a baptism 1817 for a Frances Facy (parents William & Elizabeth). That 10-14 year discrepancy seems too big to me. Would be grateful if anyone could look up 1800-1817 to see if there is another Frances Facy.
many thanks

the only Frances I can see in the records that I have access to is even further out bp 13/9/1785 - so probably not her.
The Frances your relative found was baptised in Mary Magdalene Wesleyan in Launceston.
There is an Ann Facy baptised 3/7/1804 in Egloskerry - daughter of John & Ann.
I'm beginning to sound like a broken record on this county's board - have you tried the online parish clerk? He doesn't have a website but can be emailled

I realize that this original post is several years olds, but here goes anyway...
I believe your original information for FRANCES FACY's year of birth (1817) was erroneous and that she was not the Frances Facy who was christened in Egloskerry on February 8, 1803 (to John and Nancy Facy).
Rather, I have concluded that your FRANCES FACY was "privately baptized" in Egloskerry on October 10, 1809 by her parents, William and Elizabeth Facy. Unfortunately, Frances did not live long, which probably explains why the christening was private. More than likely she was sick or close to death shortly after her birth. Did you find that Frances was buried a few days later in Egloskerry? There is a burial record for her dated October 14, 1809.
If you do not have data on FRANCES' parents, here is something that might be helpful:
William was born during 1781 and was buried in Egloskerry on September 28, 1826. He had married Elizabeth Jolliffe in the neighboring parish of Tremaine on April 11, 1805.

Hi Searlehome,
My Frances Facy did not die infancy. She married a James Hexter in 1836 and died 1891 both in Exeter Devon.
best wishes
