Just wondering whether the Jardines referred to have any connection with Jardine Hall (that was used as a school in the 1950's), near Lochmaben.
James.

John Armstrong is in my family tree -- he married Nicolas Jardine
His daughter Mary Armstrong married Adam Bell
His daughter Hannah Bell married William Graham
William and Hannah are my GGG-grandparents. :)

Hi "Sandy D"... I talked to someone awhile back in ref to Mary Armstrong ( who married Bell) He wasn't sure if THAT was his line. Are you "sure" this is yours? Cause if it is we are related! lol..The son William Armstrong is my GGG grandfather. He traveled to N Ireland married a Montgomery and named one of his (18) children " Nicholina" after his mother. She was my gg grandma. IF you are sure you are related to this line...WELL ...then .. HELLO cuz! LOL Let me know.................
-
Soopy,
Yes, I'm sure Mary Armstrong married Adam Bell, Adam was my GGG-Grandmother Hannah Bell's father.
I'm looking at the family tree I have:
Mary Armstrong's siblings:
Jean 1760
William 1764 (married Jane Montgomery)
Isabella 1767 (married Willem Wright)
I think there was a brother James as well.
Mary's parents: John Armstrong & Nicholas Jardine
-
Soopy,
more information:
Adam Bell's father: Francis Bell, married Margaret Nicol (Margaret's father William Nicol)
Francis Bell's father: William Bell, married Jannet Oliver (Jannet's father Thomas Oliver)
William Bell's father: John Bell, married Anna Armstrang

will contact you, I need to sign off for tonite as I need to go to work early tomorrow, but I will e-mail you tomorrow :)...have some more interesting things in my family tree connected to the Irish side!
-
OK!
I do not know where you are but I am in NY, USA! Awhile back I was EXTREMELY involved in researching but these last 2 years I have been "grammy care"- as I call it (lol)- watching my grand daughter FULL time or 8/9 hours a day/ 4 days a week which has left me little time to research. But when I did research.....I found quite a few connections AND cousins all over the world...Us, Ireland, Australia..... I am VERY interested in your connection. As I said before...I talked to a gentleman before who was researching BELL...Mary ARMSTRONGS connection. We were not sure ..or shall I say HE was not totally sure so we never confirmed it!
I KNOW that John and "Nicholas" are my gggg grand parents! Their son William who settled in County Fermanagh (n Ire) and married Jane Montgomery...named a daughter "Nicholina"- I assume after William's mother.(They also named a son "Jardine"). Nicholina was my gg Grandmother who eventually ended up in Brooklyn NY. My beautiful grand daughter is named "Nicholina"...after her heritage! So...
Contact me...So happy to hear from you!
PS..you mention OLIVER...strange because another son of William...Montgomery Armstrong (Co Tyrone)..well his daughter "Jeesie" married an Oliver!!!! Hmmm Interesting!!!!
