Title: Monumental Inscriptions - Tavistock
Post by: terrymo on Monday 09 April 07 20:09 BST (UK)
Hi
I went to Tavistock today in the hope of seeing some family gravestones but to my disappointment the cemetery is locked due to unstable headstones.  Does anyone know if there is a record of the headstones in the old cemetery?  I'm particularly looking for Waterfield and Glubb families.

Thanks
Mo

Hi Mo,

I am a direct descendant of Elizabeth Glubb, who married Daniel Ryder on 31 December 1736. They are my 8th gr.grandparents. I have not found any further records about them or their ancestors. But I know that Elizabeth and Daniel had 6 children. My line is through their daughter Elizabeth, who married William Whyting.

Do you have much information on the Glubb family? My trail stops at Elizabeth.

Kind regards,

Amber

Hi Amber
My line is back through the Waterfields so i haven't delved too deeply with the Glubbs. The earliest I have is Richard Glubb, poss married Elizabeth Walters in  1803. Their children are Richard,1818, Thomasine,1814 and William 1813.
Richard's daughter Emma, born 1843 married James Martin Waterfield.

sorry I can't be of more help.

Mo
