Title: Will tinson c1730 Melton Mowbray

I have hit a brick wall on one branch of my family tree with Will Tinson, he was born around 1730 and married Elizabeth Henfrey in Melton Mowbray in 1752, but I cannot find out anything about his family.

There is a William Tinson aged about 65 on 1841 census in Melton Mowbray

also an Elizabeth widow Tinson who married  a William Day in 1805
a William Tinson who died in 1793


and an Elizabeth Tinson who married  a Thomas Henfrey 18.4.1792
with children Elizabeth 1794

This is how far I've got in the last 5 years, it is the same family you found, my many Greats Grandmother is Mary 1753 who married John Arnsby.

WILL TINSON c1730 Melton Mowbray Leics. ELIZABETH HENFREY 1730 Melton Mowbray Leics to Thomas Henfrey & Catherine Sketh bapt 14 Nov 1730. Will married Elizabeth 15 June 1752 Melton Mowbray Leics.  They had 5 children born Melton Mowbray Mary 1753 Catherine bapt 30 Mar 1758. Will 21 Oct 1761, Elizabeth bapt 26 Dec 1764 married Thomas Henfrey Leics 18 Apr 1792. Will bapt 22 Aug 1767.

hi just  a little more probably no good either
In the churchyard are
a stone to  a Mary Tinson
a stone to Elizabeth wife of Thomas Henfrey died nov 3rd 1858 aged 72
A stone to a Richard Henfrey june 7 1759
a stone to a William Henfrey 17...
none are easy to read.

a lot of the stones were moved in 1970's or before ....no more Tinson

Have you considered that your William could be the William born/christened in Braunston Rutland in 1731 to John and Mary there are sevral siblings as well.
It isn't far from Melton Mowbray

Thank you for all the extra information. My geography isn't brilliant when it comes to Rutland/Leicestershire, the boundaries seem to keep changing sometimes the Arnsby family live in Oakham Rutland, sometimes Oakham Leicestershire so there is a good chance the William you mentioned could be the right one.

MARY TINSON 1753 Melton Mowbray Leics to Will Tinson & Elizabeth Henfrey bapt 17 May 1753. John married Mary (spinster) 14 Feb 1785 Oakham Leics by banns, they had 4 children born Oakham and baptised at the Baptist church Elizabeth bapt 29 Dec 1785. Catherine bapt 22 Sept-22 Oct 1787 Rhoda born 3 Mar 1789 married John Watchorn (Mary and John are my ancestors) Phebe bapt 13 Mar 1790. Husband Benjamin Vernor born c1790 married Oakham Leics 29 Jun 1816 Children Arnsby 1816 Robert 1817 John 1818 William 1820 James 1825 Mart 1827 Mary 1829 Elizabeth 1831

Elizabeth Brewster (Julie's 5x-Gt-Grandfather's Wife) c1760 Oakham Leics. John Arnsby (bachelor) married Elizabeth Brewster (spinster) banns on 7 May 1780 Oakham Leics.
