Could any kind person find me Eliza Ford (nee Annetts) born about 1835 in Penton Mewsey, Hampshire on the 1851 census. I believe she may have been married to Richard Ford but am not 100% sure. Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks

she'd be young to marry before the 1851 census ? Not impossible tho ...
How about this lass who gives her PoB as Vernham - a couple of miles north of Penton M & Andover ?
Elizabeth tho - not Eliza ...
1851 - HO107/1683; Folio: 574; Page: 5 - Vernhams Dean, Andover Regn District.
Manor House
Elizabeth Annetts 15 Servant born Vernham - household of Wm Childs, Farmer....
Couldnt see an Eliza Ford in the area ....
-
However, based on the 1841 census I think the above is incorrect, as I see a better candidate called Eliza - parents George & Hannah in Penton Grafton, Weyhill, Andover ...
HO107/384/8
Registration district of Andover
Folio: 3

Eliza isnt with them in 1851 - nor can I see her based on age, PoB and omitting surname .....
-
Eliza Annets baptised 30 Aug 1835 Penton Mewsey, parents George and Hannah.
She would only have been 15 in 1851, unlikely to have been married.
Elizabeth baptised in Vernham Dean 5 Jul 1834 is a different person. Her parents were William & Mary.

Thanks for confirming Nell :)

Thanks for that. It confirms that she wasn't married which i thought was right. She was a little young. I am trying to find out when she did marry and if it was Richard Ford as her surname is Ford in 1881 and she is widowed.
Thanks again for your help.

Hi,
I've found this possible marriage,
Richard FORD Dec Q 1861 Portsea Island v.2b p.681
Eliza ANNETT with same ref.
I can see her in the 1871 census, do you need those details?
Regards
Daisy

Hi Daisy,
That looks like it could be the right marriage reference. Details from the 1871 census would be great thank you.

Hi Daisy,
many thanks for that. I think her husband may have been a sailor so may have been away at sea when the census was taken or he may have died as she is quoted as a widow in 1881.
Best wishes
