Title: Reynolds - Great Sampford, Essex
Post by: Lance Matthews on Saturday 31 March 07 11:39 BST (UK)
Looking for any information on the family of Edmund and Elizabeth (nee Ricard) Reynolds, both born 1785 or 1786. Living in Great Sampford (Saffron Walden). Edmund was a Tailor. I think their children were,
James, Robert, Thomas and Sarah.
I am also interested in John Reynolds born about 1812 in Sampford, Essex. He is shown as a Tailor and Parish Clerk. His wife was called Isabella. Could there be a link between John and Edmund.
How far back to the church records of St.Mary The Virgin, Saffron Walden, go. Where can they be viewed.
All help will be much appreciated.
Regards
Lance

Hi Lance
I dont have any direct info on your question, but my decendants come from Simon Reynolds Baptised 5/6 /1751, son of James & Mary Reynolds.

Simon fathered a child to Elizabeth Bedlow although they didn't marry, The child was called Elizabeth Reynolds Bedlow

These are from Great Saling which is only a gnats whisker from Grt Sampford.

Happy hunting
Diane

Thank you for your input. It is something I will follow up, as they could well have been related.
