Hello,
Percival Thomas Blissett was living in Park Avenue, Dublin in 1939. He would have been in his sixties. Any information would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Marie.

What do you know about him already? Do you have his birth or marriage cert? Occupation? religion? Have you checked the Dublin directories around that time for information?

Was he Irish?
Free BMD has a birth for a Percival Thomas Blissett born 1873 Bristol and married 1905 Runcorn.
1881 has him at RG11; Piece: 2478; Folio: 26; Page: 18
1891 has him at RG12; Piece: 1965; Folio 62; Page 30
1901 - not sure of - there is a 'Percival Bliss Crew' same age and p o b
if that was him in 1901 he is an insurance agent and an engineers apprentice in 1891.

Hello Marie,
Appreciate it some time since you were inquiring about Percival Blissett. there was a Percival Blissett lived at 21 Park Avenue in the Sandymount area of Dublin in 1911 census. He's listed as 37 years of age and married to Elizabeth, no children. They were recorded as being English nationals. There is a good possibilty that they fostered a family of children who had lost their father from T.B. and their mother had mental issues. That family was called Knight and one of them Alfie has received some fame as the 9 year old boy who wrote to Lord Kitchener in 1914 requesting that he join the army as a despatch rider. The letter is on display in the Imperial War museum London. Needless to say he was turned down for enlisting. The two sets of facts match each other.
Hope this helps you belatedly with your enquiries.
Regards
John

Thats odd 38 Park Avenue is where Alfie Knight lived before his father died.
From 1911 census;
Residents of a house 38.1 in Park Avenue (Pembroke East, Dublin)

When he wrote the letter in 1914 he was living at 21 Park Avenue
Google Alfie Knight and his letter comes up with address at 21 Park Avenue.

Apparently Elizabeth Knight was on the Electoral Roll 1913 at 21 Park Ave, crossed out beside it is written'' in immediate succession from dwellinghouse 38 Park Ave''.
No sign of Percival or no 38 Park Ave

According to English Census's this appears to be Percival's brother in law Reginald son of Walter and Mary Timmins
