Please can some kind sole help me with this family. I've chased them back to Sydney Alfred WHEELER born 1884 Queensland. I know he had two siblings ... James WHEELER & Martha WHEELER.
I'm hoping for birth dates, parents names ..... all and anything would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I think you misread or I haven't set it out correctly.
The chaps first name was Sydney ... second Alfred.
The three siblings names were:
1) Sydney Alfred WHEELER born abt 1884 Qld.
2) James WHEELER
3) Martha WHEELER
Thanks too countryozy.... the family moved to Holbrook, NSW. I have Sydney born Qld, married Victoria, lived and died NSW.

I got the info from his granddaughter and the name is Sydney.... sort of a family name which has been passed down
Sydney Oscar WHEELER
Sydney George WHEELER etc.

hello agan
did she say where he had died at all
regards jenn
-
I think he died in Holbrook, NSW. The family seemed to settled there during WW1 and his sons all enlisted for WW2 from there. I have checked the NSW BDM but don't find his death there.

I hadn't seen that one..........How come I missed that?
Wagga Wagga is in NSW .... how come I don't find it?

I thought I had tried all the combinations!
Thank you

I checked the other Qld disc, and Victoria (to 1901), also the NSW online index, I cannot find a marriage for James and Charlotte, not the births of Henry and Martha.
Is it possible that they arrived in Australia with these children - you might need to purchase (or get a transcription) of Sydney /Sidney's birth certificate to get his parents birthplaces and marriage place.
The NSW index has other children's births and deaths, around the Albury Deniliquin area.

Thank you very much for the troubles you went too Christine
Ouch! Wow! Are the certificates really that expensive?
Mmmm looks like I'm going to end up in the work house.
But it does look like that's the solution to my search.

You can get a transcription agent for NSW - they are much cheaper than the certificate purchase (as compared to $25 online orders, I think, and $30 mail order from NSW BDM)
cheers

A link to the transcription agents is given on the home page of the NSW registry
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/
The link will take you here
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/howToSearch.htm and if you select the option to "hire a transcription agent" here

Sorry Lyn, I posted a link, but I dont know what happened to my post - must have posted it to the wrong page - but Trish's reply is better. ;D
-
Well I contacted them so..............fingers crossed.
Haven't had a confirmation or rejection for that matter as yet..... then it is Sunday.... not a good day for genealogy research..........it's just slows the process a bit more.... so that I don't gallop off in excitement when finding the next clue backwards.
Thank you all for the help.
You've been fantastic!

Would just like to thank you for the fantastic help.
My transcripts for the death certificate and marriage certificates arrived and WOW! all doors opened. Found the link that confirmed the family story that they were from convicts.
