Title: Can you point me to the best site
Post by: Aunty Em on Tuesday 27 March 07 15:55 BST (UK)

Hiya, :)

What in your view is the best value for money site to search for Irish Ancestors, I`m interested in the 1800`s onwards, I don`t mind paying, but I`d like to be sure the one I pay for will hold the records I`m seeking, eg, BDM, emigration.

Any help and advice will be appreciated.

Many Thanks

Aunty Em :)

Hello Aunty Em,

I've spotted a message about Online Irish BMDs which indicates that the most economical route for Irish research is at the LDS FHC in your locality http://tiny.cc/oF3uv It would possibly be a different matter if your ancestors came from Ulster.

Em, have you tried a look-up in the British isles records index? Ireland is included. It might narrow things down a bit for you.
