Title: Ireland to Scotland
Post by: Aunty Em on Monday 26 March 07 12:04 BST (UK)
Hiya, :)

Could someone help with this question please.

My grandfather went to Glasgow around 1925/26 with his wife and son ( My father). Apparently my GF couldn`t settle there, and went back to Ireland taking my father with him, his wife didn`t return with them. She was never seen or heard of again. Is there any point trying to trace her??

Thank you

Aunty Em :)

Could she have gone somewhere like America? Maybe put name into Ellis Island just on the chance. (just realised that Ellis Island records online might be a bit too late).
If you post a query on Rootschat with her name, birthdate, or any other details that you do know, someone might be able to help.

Hiya aghadowey :)

Thanks for the reply, the info I have is very sketchy to say the least, my grandmothers name was Mary (also known as Maisie) Short, nee Connors, born around 1900?? At James St, Dundalk. I`m afraid this is all the info I have.

Many thanks

Aunty Em :)
