Post by: annaandchester on Monday 26 March 07 07:36 BST (UK)
Is any one here researching the Carr family? I ask family folklore says that one of my male Harris's married into the Carr family but I know no names or dates of details only that they emigrated to America end ofn 19th beginning of 20th Century.

Vague I know but if anyone is researching that family can they get in touch please.

 Hi annaandchester

Have you heard of the book "Rich Desserts and Captain's Thin"  by Margaret Forster, the English novelist and biographer?

It gives the full history of J.D.Carr and the biscuit works at Carlisle.

Might give you a lead.                                   Kind regards from SarahB
