Hi
I'm looking for Harriet Gooch in 1901.
Patrish kindly found her for me in the 1891 Census RG12/2764/122/22, with her husband and 1 child from her previous marriage.
She was born in Rockland Norfolk c1821.
Could someone please have a look and see if they can find her please. If she can't be found it will give me some clue as to her death, as I haven't found that yet.
Thanks
Mary :)

Hi Bluie
Thank you for looking.
This may be her. Perhaps she moved back to Norfolk sometime in that ten year gap.
Was there anyone else living at that address at all?
Her husband was Stephen Gooch.
Forgot to mention in my last post, their address in 1891 was 2 Rodney Yard Brampton Derbyshire.
Thanks
Mary :)

2 Rodney Yard, Brampton, Chesterfield
Gooch Stephen 51 Head Wid. Bootmaker Norfolk

There is a death for a Harriet Gooch March Q 1897, Chesterfield 7b 454 aged 67.

Hi Spendlove
Thank you for finding that info for me, it's appreciated.
The plot thickens! Where has Ella come form?, I wonder.
I did see that death you mentioned, so if that is the correct person it would put her date of birth c1830. Mind you, her age has been a mystery all through the census's, but then again, I have a marriage ref. to her her first husband, Edwin Seppings in 1839. I think I'm going to have to send off for that cert. it may give me some more clues.
Thanks for your time.

on closer inspection of the 1901 cencus given by spendlove that is defiantely your stephen as i can clearly read basket maker not shoe maker and as he has said right through the cencus basket maker i think we can say that is your man.
hope this helps?

Hi Everyone,
Sorry about the transcription error for 1901 Census it does clearly state Basket Maker
and not Boot Maker. Old age is my excuse for this week.
Do you think that Eliza and Ella are the same person, they have the same age
and County of Birth plus it does state daughter?
Spendlove.

Hi Alli and Spendlove
I am confused too!
The family is the correct one Alli.
I also wonder if "Ella" and Eliza are one and the same. As to Harriet's age, this is how it's listed in the census's:
1841 - 21
1851 - 30
1861 - 44
1881 - 53
1891 - 52
????? :-\
Any thoughts on that? Maybe she just didn't give her correct age? I'm pretty sure I've got the right family throughout.
Old age is usually my excuse Spendlove ;D
