Your Great uncle George Bamford b. 1890,stated as Next of Kin his father George when he enlisted in1915..
His attestation paper shows he was also in the boot trade.
It also gives the home address of his father George at that time.
Don't know if this is of interest to you.

Hi Jan
My Dad, EDWARD BAMFORD, Bn. 17NOV1925 is almost certainly a cousin of yours. I am typing this for hiom, as he is not familiar with a keyboard.
If you are MILTON's daughter, then it is confirmed. He would love to chat, especially with a view to fimnding more about a pssible link to SAMUEL BAMFORD. Perhaps your digging might save us heaps of time!
He lives in CANBERRA, having moved from SYDNEY in about 1946.
Cheers
Graham Bamford. BYWONG New South Wales.

Jan,
Letters that were unclaimed were returned back to the Sydney GPO and a list of names relating to the unclaimed letters were then regularly published in the NSW Government Gazettes. Often the list would have the occupation and or postal location of the recipient. In the case of James Bamford it only had his name.
I have access to some NSW Gazettes.

Hello Jan,
I am related to the Bamfords you are talking about.
Frances Louisa Hill (Bamford) is my great grandmother. My grandmother was Doris's sister Frances.
I believe your grandmother used to live in Buxton on a farm? My mother has told me lots of the family history.
Hope this helps your search.

Hi Jan,
Can you message me your email address? I'd like to start digging around in the family tree and it would be great to be in touch.
Yes, Jennifer is my mum and I hear often about Daisy the cow, etc at Buxton. I took her out to see the farm about 10 years ago now. We think it's likely to have been demolished for new houses now.
best, Clare
