Can anyone find what his parents names were or if he had any siblings please.
-
There are 19 Wm Dobsons born 1813 - 1817 Middx on the IGI, what other info do you have on him? by 1841 he will probably not be with his parents.

Hi, He married Jemima Elizabeth Mamott approx 1838. I think he was William Richard Dobson and he may have been born around Limehouse, Middlesex, England.
-
My wifes family have Dobson from Mdsx, the earliest is William,b1828, he moved to Manchester, his sonJames, 1852-93, was her gg granfather, other names linked via marriage, Burrows, Wells, Corcoran, Smith, Norton, Goulding, & Lockett.
If you pm me i will send you a short tree showing what i have. bodger

In 1841 he is seen living at
13 EASTFIELD STREET, ST ANNE LIMEHOUSE, TOWER HAMLETS, MIDDLESEX
WILLIAM DOBSON 25 BAKER Y (BORN MIDDLESEX)
JEMIMA " 25 Y
JEMIMA " 2 Y
WILLIAM " 5 MONTHS Y
--------------------
From the 1841 info it appears that William is aged 25-29 as per age info for the 1841 census and he was born in Middx and by the marriage detail from the IGI's the marriage cert should be available giving details of who their father's are as well as occupations............

The marriage is listed on freebmd as................
RICHARD DOBSON and one has to assume that ELIZABETH MARRIOTT is the one he married.....freeBMD appears to have her name correct....definitely MARRIOTT and you will find her on the VIEW IMAGES part of freebmd at 1838m2-m-237 which means in short .... 1838/JUNE QTR/UNDER M/PAGE 237 of the register
Bermondsey....1838...JUNE QTR....VOLUME 4.......PAGE 4
On 1837 online that will cost you £7-00 and will give you the father's names
Have fun
