Hi

Not much help - they were not at that address in 1891
The district was 'St George in the East' if that helps.

Good luck

Having noticed that in the 1881  census that William Siebert was born in Forest Gate c 1880, I thought it worthwhile looking in Essex for anything on John & family.  The only thing I managed to find was something for a Ann b c 1871 Bethnal Green.

1891 census
RG12/1347  folio 33  page 14
15, Elm Terrace  Leyton

Annie Siebert  S age 20   Servant  b  Bethnal Green
head of house  Alfred Bowler     confectioner.

Hi,

Thank you all for your searching and ideas.

I had the following from a lookup for 1871:

Sarah, 31, wife, married, Bethnal Green
Carl, 7, St. George East
Anne, 6 mths, Bethnal Green

15 St. Peter's Square, Bethnal Green
RG10/479 /71 pg 48

(wife Sarah died in 1882 B. Green)

Conrad sounds very promising.  Son, Carl, has Conrad as one of his middle names.

I would like the 1871 details please, plus maybe that will help in finding them in 91/1901.

I had wondered about the child b. in Forest Gate - maybe a grandchild.
Thank you for finding Annie also!

Thanks,
Charlotte

I found a marriage on freebmd, and Conrad would perhaps be the brother of John Henry Siebert.

Conrad Siebert & Matilda Webb, m. 1860

John Henry Siebert & Sarah Ann Maria Branch, m. 1862

Thanks for sending on the details on Conrad.

John Henry Siebert was my great great grandfather and Annie my great grandmother. We have an oil painting of John Henry and also family photographs of Annie and her relatives. Annie siebert married into the parsons family. John henry had a bakery and tea shop in Stoke Newington london in wich Annie his daughter worked and where she met her future husband. We still have the tea pot she served his tea in. Annie had two daughters Isabel and Dorothy but her husband tragically died in an accident when he was 28. Annie did not re marry.

Just before the WW1 there was anti german persecution and John Henry had bricks thrown through his shop window. He decided to up sticks with his children and leave for Austalia leaving only Carl Seibert and Annie (Parsons) behind. Annie was married and settled in East london (Leyton I believe) and Carl had carved himself a successful career as a concert singer , appearing at the crystal palace, we have a brochure of one of his performances somewhere.

Apparently John Henry became a very successful sheep farmer in Australia with his children.  I am very interested to hear of any other news regarding the family. A

Hello Charlotte,

I see you have an interest in the Siebert family from Hessen, Germany. I am a descendant on my Paternal side. If you have any photos, I would greatly appreciate a look.

Many thanks

Tricia

Hi Isobella
I see that you have pics of the relatives, would love to see them as I have nothing further back than Victor Albert & Florence Siebert, John Henrys younger brother and his wife. I am descended from Victor Albert Siebert - GG Florence Annie Siebert - GM and Leonard A Sacker - My Father
