Hi Mo
I came across this site just by chance after discovering
these people James Reaper and Bathia Mavor who are my G.G.G. Grandparents. I just thought that I would post a message in the chance that someone might have come across them in their research. ???
I have used the Scotland's People site and it is a great site, but I prefer to go into the search rooms as it is better value for your money. I have booked a seat for 9th December so hopefully I will find some information about them then. :)

I hope you have a wonderful day on the 9th... I loved the one and only day I had in Edinburgh GRO the facilities there are wonderful... ;D
Best Wishes

Moscan,
I am just new to this site. My great great great grandparents also were James Reaper and Bathia Mavor, m. 5/18/1814! Their daughter was Barbara Reaper who married her cousin James Reaper, son of James Reaper. I have found several different spellings of Reaper-Reeper, Rapier, Keeper and Raiper. Their descendent was my grandmother, Bella Sangster. Her grandmother was Barbara Reaper and her father was William Sangster, whom I have not been able to trace. Not suer if you are still looking for information however it sounds as though we are related! Hope to here from you-Jane

Hello,
I am descended from Barbara Sangster born about 1773/1774 who married in Gamrie Banff. My dad's cousin has made some distant DNA matches with Jamaican Sangsters so I believe that Barbara may be the daughter of John Sangster and Isobel Wilson who were the parents of John Sangster who went to Jamaica.
