Am trying to find the names of the parents of Edith Muriel Stewart born 1908 toxteth.
Can anyone help me either by telling me where I might find Baptismal registers or local registrar Office.
She had 2 brothers Albert and Donald, any help would be wonderful. Thanks

Hi Mrs Noah
If you know which church the child/children were baptized you might find the local library has the church baptisms on film.If not you will have to send for the birth cert to find the parents.

Sally.
Have You got Edith Muriels Birth Record?
If Not, Here it Is:
Dec Qtr 1908, Tox Park 8b 155
Have You any Idea When Albert & Donald were Born? ( were the Younger or Older Brothers of Edith Muriel?)
-
Hello Pegasuss
Many thanks for the ref for Edith Muriel.
I think that Albert and Donald were older than Edith. in fact I am hoping that some one might find Albert on the 1901 census. he was born in about 1897???? was in his 50.s in the late 1940's or so I am told.
[Of course there might be other brothers and sisters but I have no idea]
..........
The area is the toxteth /sefton park part of Liverpool.......
all this is just someones recollections and I am trying hard to make it a reality..........

Gertrude STEWART

I am Not 100% sure about Gertrude? (but She does seem to Fit what We can Decipher from the 1891 & 1901 Census Records?) ::) ;)

:-\ ???
But the oldest children were born in Whitehaven Cumb not Toxteth so does that not suggest that they were living in Whitehaven for several years between at least 1884 and 1892 and as wife Mary was from Whitehaven too possibly they were married there also.

Donna & Sallie.
I must have Missed Them in Whitehaven! :-[
It Stuck in My mind that Sallie had said in Her Original Post 'Toxteth' & then I found the Wm M 1881 Census (Online), 1891 Census entry (by searching through My Index Discs)! ::)
P.S.
Some of What I posted should be Useful! (What You Read on Census Is not Always The Exact Truth!) ::) ;)
P.P.S.
I will have to get More Sleep! ;)

The entries for 1891 and 1881 are looking like the right ones I cannot find another William Stewart born Whitehaven in the 1881 census apart from yours. If he was a ships carpenter maybe that is why he is in Liverpool (big docks lots of ships ;D )
it is so easy to get carried away look at us doing all this and this might not even be the right family :-\ Unless Sallie gets Edith Muriels birth cert we may never know :'(
Donna
PS does anyone know what a Revitor is (1901 occupation) or is it a Riveter (linked to 1881 occ. of boiler maker)?
-
Yes, I know what You mean, once I start on Here, I am like a Dog with a Bone! ::) ;)
Re: Revitor on 1901 Census.
Yes, I think the Enumerator must have had a Few Jars(when He wrote This!), I Automatically Reafd it as 'Riveter', as You say it fits:
Ship Carpenter - Boiler Maker - Riveter (all in Ship Yard, ie Lairds?) ::) ;)
