Title: Pockets of Gloucester
Post by: Cog on Thursday 08 March 07 23:00 GMT (UK)
I am searching for any Pocket family of gloucestershire, I am told they  ran a jewellery business in Glouceter around 1960''s it could be earlier, the only Christrian names I have are Eileen, Katy, Dennis and Linda.  The family originally came from Ireland Katy married a Mr Pocket and had a son Dennis, he had a couple of children on of the name Linda.  I have been unable to find any trace of them but know they were in Gloucester somewhere as my aunt and uncle visited them when they were alive.  Any help would be appreciated

Hello

I realise you posted this some time ago, I have recently found this site!
My husband is from the Pockett family of Gloucester, I have been researching his family after becoming frustrated with the dead ends I had reached on my own family! Happy to give you any information I can, I am unable to PM you, maybe as I am new to the site?

Hi Foxhunter

I think its brilliant how we can reach out after posts have been on Rootschat for some time. Would be great to hear how your related and if you have done any research. I have been researching my Great Aunt Katies family in Ireland for some time and many times have been helped out on here by so many which Im very thankful for. My Mom now passed 2 years ago remembered Denis fondly. I have quite a tree growing now but nothing on the Pockett paternal side. Katie was taken back to Ireland for buriel where she is buried with her sister Eileen and their Mother Mary Kate Blayney, I do have a photograph of Mary and their father John Harris .I have since (quite recently) had contact with a friend of the family who lives in Wexford who I believe may still have contact (?) . Hopefully you can PM me soon. Lovely to hear from you.
