HI Carol,
With regard to Johnson Thornhill, his burial is recorded in the Dunedin Southern Cemetery as having died 29 Nov 1871 at the age of 50yrs. He is described as a miner and a native of Ireland.
Another Thornhill, George is also listed as having died on 23 Jul 1867, but he is described as a native of England.

I have three Thornhill daughters arriving in Victoria between 1857 and 1859. Their names are Frances (Fanny), Elizabeth and Margaret. They were the daughters of Elizabeth Thornhill and William Dudley.
All were baptised in Mitchelstown County Cork Ireland in the 1830s. Elizabeth snr is my "Brick wall". I can find no marriage for her and therefore no parents, birthdate or place.
She died in Mitchelstown in 1845, leaving seven young children. The names of the others are William, George, Christopher and Susan. A family story states that she was a Quaker.

HI
Noted Annie was supposed to have been in the Alfred Hospital c1880. An Annie Thornill had a daughter Ethel May Gensen in Melbouner in 1883.
I wonder if this could be her?
Can't find a later marriage or a death for eiher of them.
regards
Robyn
