Does anyone have access to a list of Mayors of Beaumaris in 19th century ?
I'm looking for Hugh Thomas ( yes I know it's a very common name !!).

Either write to the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Beaumaris or call in to see the town clerk - bound to have a list of mayors.

Thanks Gilly. Things have moved on a little since I posted that message last year. It turns out that my wife's ancestor Hugh Thomas (1819 -1861) was the brother of William Thomas whose son Hugh became mayor. In 1851 both families are butchers in Castle Street, next door to one another.
So it wasn't Hugh, it was his nephew Hugh !

Hi Shaun,
I would welcome sharing some information from your line in exchange for my line. I can trace back to William Thomas b1810, which I believe is the brother of your Hugh Thomas b1819.
Talk to you soon,
Thanks
Tim

Thanks for the reply, where did you get the information from?
Also, I think I can explain. Hugh Thomas and his father Hugh Thomas were both Mayors I believe, which is what I m trying to verify.
Talk to you soon,
Tim
