I am researching the Berry family tree from Sussex and Surrey. I am back to the late 1500's but have quite a few gaps that need to be filled in.
Other names that connect this family are Stacey; Smithers; Boxall; Glazier; Frogley; White but to name a few.
Any help would be welcomed.

If you could be more specific as to what gaps need filling in, I'm sure some of us can help :)

The best I can do is to give you the marriages from the Sussex Marriage Index of the names you mentioned for Sussex;
Edward
Coombes, West Sussex, 11 Jun 1683:
Edward BURRY, Lancing
Martha ALDERTON, Sompting
Next marriage for an Edward is 1713, Harting.
Edmund
Aldingbourne, West Sussex, 30 Nov 1676:
Edmund BURRY
Susan GOFFE, Lidsey
The only Edmund on the SMI!
Joan
Archdeaconry of Lewes Marriage Licence, 28 Apr 1692:
Joan BERRY, sp Fletching
John DEADMAN, otsp
Extra Information: SRS 6
Lewes St. Michael, East Sussex, 28 Apr 1692:
Joan BERRY, Fletching
John DEADMAN, otsp
John
Poling, West Sussex, 1 Apr 1695:
John BURREY
Joan OAVER, (by a smock licence)
Not sure what a smock licence is but I'll try to find out!
From the Surrey Marriage Index;
John Berry from Farnehurst to Joan Bridger of Haslemere, 11/9/1606 at Haslemere.
John Berry to Elizabeth Collens 17/9/1634 botp at Haslemere.
John Berry to Joan Cover, 8/5/1690. at Witley. John from Haslemere.

Hi,
Saw your message, think I may be able to help a little, Fred Smithers was born in 1869 in Fernhurst and married Sarah (could be Glazier) had four daughters Edith, Hilda, Bessie and Laura.
Fred died Jan 1st 1914 or 1915. Fell of a roof, worked for Lord Cowdrey.
Buried on 4th Jan in Fernhurst.
Edith born 29th June, 1903
Hilda died as a child
Bessie born about 1905
Laura born 2nd November, 1907.
Sarah died 1949 in Odiham, Hampshire

Hi Bobbydazler & welcome to Rootschat :)
Have you, by mistake, put this posting on the wrong thread?

Hi Jane,
I'm following on the thread of the Smithers family, my mum was a smithers.
I got one bit wrong though Fred died 1919. 1st Jan, was buried on his birthday 4th Jan. Sarah died first quarter of 1949.
Sorry if I'm on the wrong thread but I'm very new to this.
Best wishes

Hi Bobbydazzler,
I think Sunnysmile only referred to the Smither's family as part of her research in passing. This thread was an enquiry for the Berry family.
It would be a good idea to post your Smithers interests on the Surname Interest Board (there is a link at the bottom of every county page) but here it is; http://surname.rootschat.com/
You'll find a few fellow Rootschatters who are also researching this name so you can send them a personal message (PM) & get in contact ;)
Hope you enjoy your time on Rootschat & if you need any help just let us know :)

Many thanks for your help, I'm still very new to this so its taking me a while to get the hang of it.
I've posted a surname interest as you suggested, will wait and see what happens.
Many thanks

When you're in Surname Interests, do a search for Smithers & you'll find a few others who are researching the name. Click on their name which is in blue & a blank PM will come up. Tell them who you are researching/when & where & they can then get back to you :)
Have fun,

You need to go into Surname Interests (link is at the bottom of the Surrey page) once in, at the top of the page there's a search thingy, go into the 'S' section, scroll down & you'll find the name Smithers, click on it & you should get the names of other rootschatters who are researching the same name, each person has a blue address next to the name, when you click on this it will give you a personal message (PM) form that you can write a message on. Once you've written your message click on 'SEND' & it will go to their PM inbox & they can answer you.
