I'm looking for any information on the name Reaks in Ireland....my great-grandfather William Maurice Reaks moved to India where he lived and settled...I think he had previously lived in Cork but not sure...any information would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Ashley,

According to Griffiths Valuation on Origins there was one Honoria Reeks renting a house and yard on the Lower Glanmire Road in Cork.

There is a mention of Myles Reek, a Lessor in Malahide, Co. Dublin but no mention of where he lived himself.

Also a Thomas Reecks of Kilkenny, a very large property owner judging by the number of entries he has as the Lessor of properties in the Castlecomer area.
