I'm trying to find some info on the parents of Florence Ethel SMITH. She was born 5 Sep 1881 in Lower Green Baildon, Yeardon, Wharfedale, Yorkshire. I know her parents were Richard SMITH and Mary Hannah DRIVER and their marriage was registered Q4 1875 in Bradford, WRY (according to FreeBMD) -- but that's ALL I know about them. Could someone please find Florence Ethel SMITH (age 9) in the 1891 census, then use the household info to find her parents in the other censuses?
Thanks,
WG

Hi WG

Richard Smith 40 Painter Bradford
Mary Hannah Smith 40 Leeds
Lilly Smith 14 Shipley
Florence Ethel Smith 10 Scholar Baildon Green

Thanks Barbara. Yes, I've now found them in the 1881 census. I had seen the record before but wasn't sure it was them because I didn't know Florence had an older sister. Looking forward to seeing what you can find in the other censuses.

Thanks a lot Barbara! You've found quite a lot of new info. Very interesting about Rebecca.
Can you find Florence Ethel in 1901? She didn't marry until 1909 so I assume she'll still be living with her father (Richard). I believe her mother (Mary Hannah) died in 1899 so Richard will be a widower in the 1901. I'm curious to know if there were any other siblings I didn't know about.
Thanks again,
WG

Could it be that Rebecca was Mary's sister?
Yep, found them in the IGI. Parents were John WRIGGLESWORTH and Ellen CROUTCHLEY.
And on the Yorkshire BMD site, I found that James DRIVER married Mary Wrigglesworth in 1837 at Holy Trinity Church, Rothwell.
Fascinating!

Excellent, that sorts them out then, well done! :)
