Title: grandads war

Hi
Can anybody please point me in the right direction i would like to see if my grandads army records have survived he was in the Royal field Artillery in WW1.My sister in law paid a researcher for copies of  her grandads records some of her pages were burnt so i know what to expect .She has no idea where he got them,also they were alot of money which i can ill afford ,i wonder is it possible for me to look myself.
Forgive me if question silly but know nothing of the army.

They would be in Kew, London at The National Archives.

His medal card (if he went overseas) would be available to down load for £3.50 visit :

but for his service record you would have to visit personally or pay a researcher.  The cost of research as come down a lot over the years, so it may not be as much as you think.  Perhaps ask for a quote. ??? There are some who advertise on Rootschat.
