My Great grand father, Edmund FENWICK believed to have been born Newton Hyde, Cheshire about 1853. His parents are believed to have been Aaron FENWICK and Sarah NEWTON or NORTON, married 25th April 1852 in Newton Heath, Lancashire.
Edmund's siblings MAY have been: Bertha, 1852 and William 1858, but this is far from certain.
Hope you can help me clear up all these question marks!

Have you seen that his birthplace is Bingley Yorkshire on the 1871 census?
In 1861, he says Newton Cheshire. Their surname is Finnick on the census and they live in Newton, Lancashire (registration district Ashton under Lyne).
No siblings on either census :-\

Indeed I can see 2 Aarons in 1851. The one born Newton Cheshire is still at home with his parents, unmarried, while the other one is married to a Sarah :D

Can't see a Bertha FENWICK/FINNICK anywhere.... The Yorkshire Fenwick couple have children Charlotta (9), Charles (7), William (4) and Sarah Ann (1) in 1861.

Hello Tati,
thank you so much for this information. I am certain we are looking at the same man. My problem has been that on his marriage certificate he is listed as FENWICK, but it seems FINNICK was the name he was born under. Traps for the un-wary!
You have given me a new perspective on this family. I am grateful.
