Hiya curlytops,
The online extracts of Griffiths Valuations of Co. Meath, 1855 (http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths.php) show a number of people with the Yore surname.

HI Chris
Thanks for info....have just had a look and I see what you mean, there are quite a few names there!!! I also had a look for the Frain's from Co Mayo (my other Great Great Grandparents) and found some more names....so much appreciated thanks again!!

The Yore name is still alive and well around this part of County Meath. If you find a copy of the Irish phonebooks (046 area), you'll probably find a surviving relative there.

Hiya curlytops,
You don't say where you are located. I feel that you might have problems getting an 046 area Irish phonebook so you might be better to try Yore in the Eircom online phonebook ... www.eircomphonebook.ie
MikeW, sorry you weren't able to join us in Dublin on Friday evening. It was great craic meeting those members who were there. Maybe you could send curlytops the Yores listed in the 046 Directory via a PM.
I may be able to get them too as I think that the Ballynahinch library may have Irish Directories.

Hi Mike and Chris
Thankyou for your posts..all help is very much appreciated!!
I live in Cumbria England so as you can imagine trying to trace back thru Irish records is proving difficult...I did get some info from Church LDS but came to standstill again!! ::) I can see why it takes a long time to do this but I am having fun. Never been to Ireland either but am intending to make my journey of discovery when I have a bit more to go on!! Keep up the good work and once again I appreciate so much your help!!
Best Wishes Anne-Marie :D

If you are within reach of a good library.... see if they have copies of the Irish phonebooks. When I lived in England, my local library had them - came in useful.

Just checked the online eircom phonebook as suggested by Christopher : if you check for Meath and Cavan you'll find the Yores for the area you're interested in - the county border is just down the road from Carnaross, so the addresses for the 049 numbers are only a short distance away. There are about 34 Yore entries in the actual phonebook, for the Meath/
Louth/Cavan area......several of them related to each other, I'm sure. You could always try the most likely one ! Happy hunting !

I have a Jane Yoar/Yore who married Hugh Beggan in 1805 in Carnaross Parish in County Meath.
I had an email from another gentleman who had Yore in his tree but there was not connection to my Yore that I could see.
I could send you the marriage cert if you wish. I had hit a dead end of my Jane to the current time.

My ancestors were Yores from Spiddall, Nobber, Co Meath. The Nobber parish register is in excellent condition and can be ordered through the LDS. It is also fully transcribed on www.rootsireland.ie.
My ancestor, John Yore, was born in Nobber in 1819 to John & Peggy Yore, son of James Yore.

My name is Patrick Yore from Carnaross in Meath :-)

I've researched the surnames MARKEY, FITZSIMONS and SMITH in the Catholic Parish Register of Nobber, Meath. The surname Yore appears a number of times as witness, so a connection is possible.
