Can anyone help me with the location of Greaves Cottages, Newfoundland Street, Dublin. I have a map of Newfoundland Street but there is no mention of Greaves Cottages. My g grandfather was living at no 5 when he married. Any help appreciated. Thanks. :-[

The 1909 directory (checked today in the Gilbert) lists Grave's (sic) cottages as being at 7 Newfoundland Street.
7 Newfoundland Street was occupied by a John Elliott, dairy in 1909 and 1913.

Thank you for that information. The address on the marriage certificate is 5 Greaves Cottages, Newfoundland Street, so I suppose the spelling could be incorrect. but what is strange is that Thomas and Annie's first child was born at 9 Newfoundland Street. I do not suppose you have any further information on this street and the type of houses that were there? Thank you again.

9 Newfoundland Street in 1913 was listed as tenements as was much of the street.

Thanks so much. Now, any idea where Upper Iona Street was? This is a puzzle I can not solve! It must be near. Any thoughts? Cheers!

Saw your post regarding Newfoundland Street. I believe your gg grandfather was my gg grandfathers brother. I'm aware your post was some time ago, but if you're still researching family history, would love to get in touch.
