Title: Lincs Registration Service certificates?
Post by: pjbuk007 on Tuesday 13 February 07 22:43 GMT (UK)
I have just found a Lincs marriage.  If I contact the Lincs Service in Lincoln, will I get a modern handwritten copy of the entry?

Usually I use the GRO, but some people have suggested using the local offices.

Any advice very welcome.

You need to know the church where the marriage took place to obtain a copy from Lincoln.

I have just purchased some modern copy certificates and they appeared to be scans of the original entry printed on official paper.

Recently I ordered a marriage cert. from Lincoln office.  My letter/cheque returned as they didn't have them for Reg.district of Glandford Brigg.
Got it from Scunthorpe office.
