Could someone tell me where Andrew RUMGAY and his wife Mary BLACK would be buried please?
Andrew RUMGAY... b c 1762 son of Andrew RUMGAY and Mary MACKIE
Mary BLACK... b c 1762 dau of John BLACK and Anna HUME
They died on the same day 1 July 1847 both aged abt 84 at Kettle Hill Fife

married 1759 Cameron Parish Church Fife
to Mary MacKay b. 14 Feb 1731 Baldinnie Ceres Fife - d. 25 Apr 1815 Darsie Fife.

Sorry, Yonks, this is no help with your query, but my father had a pal called Jimmy Rumgay in Dunfermline in the 1920s (he must have been born about 1902 I think).
He became so fed up with having to explain and spell out his unusual surname that, when asked, he often gave his name as: "White - W. H. I. T. E."
I don't suppose he knew that he might have had an ancestor called Black.
