Hi
This would have been the medal they received, as for the clasp, I can'f find any reference to a clasp being given for Accra.
The medal shown is the 1918-1962 version of the GSM, a new one struck in 1962 and it is still ongoing as far as I know.

The Africa General Service Medal was still in use to 1956 and was awarded to RAF personnel in Kenya during the Mau-Mau troubles.
However, same applies as genechaser says for the GSM, no clasp for Accra 1955 or anything similar ??? ???

I have checked the qualifications and cannot see any medal that service in Accra in 1955 would earn.
