Hi Tim,

I confirm that the above Williams information is correct as I have looked at the original today.

I also looked before and after out of interest and found;

Mary Slugget daughter of William and Ann April 2nd 1822
Lewis Slugett son of William and Ann April 30th 1820
On both occasions William is a Farmer.
As marriage were on same micro fiche I looked for the marriage but didnt find one!!

Hope this helps.

May be there is as I only went a few years either side of 1821 or maybe they were born in Black Torrington.

I'm a descendant of William Sluggett and Ann Ward too. I see that on other sites someone has taken the Sluggett line back into the 1400s, but there is no justification for their tree entries. ( I am unable to ask them where the info came from ).
I can not find documentary evidence for William who was born approx 1780. I am also not convinced that the 1841 census has a 'Y' in the "born in this county column".
If anyone can show me where to find the documents for this family line, I would be very grateful.
