I have progressed and found roots in Shetland, now looking to see if anyone is looking for Johns(t)on/Manson or Johns(t)on/Will (grandparents) buried in Old Deer. I am would like to hear from anyone who may be looking along the same lines.

good evening my friend, big big welcome to rootschat, when i first started my road in genealogy, one of my first ports of call was to the council, who have records of the burials in their local vancinity.
the records are very good, sometimes they can even tell you if there is a gravestone on the grave.
wishing you well
Joe

Hi Terry
Another warm welcome :) Just picking up from your post, I am hoping that this will give me a direction to start finding my fathers family, Daniel Johnson's death certificate which should be available to view on Scotlands People will probably be very informative. It will provide you with details on who his parents were, name including maiden name of your great grandmother, his age at death etc. From there you can look for their marriage cert. etc. Is this the type of info that you are looking for?
Regards.

The contact for Deer Cemetery is
Aberdeenshire Council Registrars
Council Offices
Nethermuir Road
Maud
AB42 4ND
Tel: 01771 613667
maud.registrar[at]aberdeenshire.gov.uk
They have records for Old Deer deaths 1940-1967 and lair plans, although they state on the website that only gravediggers notepads exists for the Churchyards of Old Deer and New Deer.
Hope this helps but as the previous post says, you will probably get more info from the Death Record on Scotlandspeople.
Cheers
Gary
