Looking for a William Pott. Shows up on the 1881 census in the household of John and Jane Cartmail. I believe that he is Jane's father. He is shown as being a widow. Born abt 1812 in Yoxall. There is also nother William in the 1881 census that is married to a Mary A. I am very interested in the first William as I have come across an old funeral card of Jane Cartmail and trying to follow this family line as I think they are connected to my Pott family some how.

Thank you Mrs O and Isobel For the information. I'm trying to lind the William in question to a John Pott who married a Sarah Bates (not sure when she was from Cherrington). John was born abt 1827-28. Any way you have a date of marriage of Jane Pott and John Cartmail in 1864, does it show what age they were?
In the 1851 census it shows a Elizabeth age 91 as mother in law, does it show here last name and does she show up in the 1841 census.
If i'm sorting every thing right then the William that I asked about would have been married to Elizabeth, any idea when they married?
I may have a couple other questions but I do not want to over burden you.

The marriage ref for John Cartmail and Jane Pott you will have to get the marriage cert to find any other information and Elizabeth 91 just had ditto for surname.under all the Pott

perhaps they were cousins/2nd cousins, hence the same surname, and mother-in-law with same surname.

Is there any John Pott or Patt listed in the same yoxall parishes as the William's. You mentioned one in 1841 in the same household as William HO1o7 976/27 fol 5 p 3. Is there a Sarah Bates listed any where, maybe as a servant?
