Hi,
John Connolly and Alice (Scallion) both born in Co. Wexford c. 1822. They left Ireland between 1865 and 1870. They have three daughters, Alice b. 1853 and Margaret b. 1865 in Ireland and Catherine b. 1870 in Liverpool. Can anyone please advise me what steps to take to find more information on John and Alice before they came to England. Are there any census returns or BMD records I can access in Ireland? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanking you.

There was a connolly family in Castlesow Crossabeg Co. Wexford .
The last member was a Margaret Connolly who died about 20 years ago and she was in her 90's.
She spent a number of years working in England . The family were small farmers.
i Think a male member of the family was John or Johnny who played hurling with the SALLYBEACHERS IN THE 1920S 1930S club based in Crossabeg / Castlebridge

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, but I don't think this could be the same Margaret Connolly. Although born in Ireland she married Martin Brothers and lived in the Toxteth area of Liverpool. She was aged 33 on the 1901 census so would have been well over 100 hundred years old about twenty years ago.
Thanks once again. Best wishes. Isi.
