I am trying to trace the Crombie family who I believe were from this townland.
John Crombie married Susannah Park and had the following children..
Thomas born 15 Nov 1840
Hannah born c. 1842
Martha born c. 1843
Isabella born c. 1848
John born c. 1850
Can anyone help establish this family or point me in the right direction for further research.
Thanks
John

Hello John,
What religious persuasion were the Crombie family?
NI Libraries catalogue lists ...
"Saint Macartan's Church, Loughinisland - Bicentenary 1787-1987 Author: J. Magee. ISBN: P001321621

Thanks Christopher
the family were presbyterian as far as I know. I have plenty records of them here in Scotland but all state the place of birth as County Down. The only record with a place name is the 1851 Census which shows Drumanaghan.

Ros Davies' Co. Down, Ireland, Genealogy Research Site (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rosdavies/CHURCHES/K_W.htm#Loughinisland) mentions Presbyterian churches at Loughinisland.

Have you seen Ros Davies website freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rosdavies//SURNAMES/C/Cromie.htm
a search for Loughinisland becomes interesting even though the possibley wrong spelling.
In case your Crombie is historically also Cromie, then there are family manuscript trees in existence but they may not be relevant at all Some examples are in volumes 1p84 Dublin Montague, vol 11p99 Seafin Clough, vol 22p154,vol 30 loose letter, vol 37. These volumes are in the Blackwood Family history manuscript trees in LinenHall library, Belfast. I suggest you ask them for photocopying estimates if they think your knowledge relevant and be prepared to pay the extra for post and packing. However if the material is really relevant when you get it, I suggest a further donation to this unique library that is always needing extra funds. Linen Hall Library,17 Donegall Square North, Belfast BT15GB, Northern Ireland, Telephone: +44 (0)28 9032 1707, Fax: +44 (0)28 9043 8586, Email:info[at]linenhall.com

Loughinisland has been researched by I think the same Mr Blackwood as mentioned above.

Hi John.
In a townland listing of Loughinisland, your area, Drumanaghan is also listed as Drumulcaw.
My family has links to some Cromie families in the Drumgooland parish, not to be confused with Drumgooland townland in Loughinisland Parish. Here is your area:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rosdavies/MAPS/LoughinislandTownlands.htm
Have you seen these?

I also have a Park family. John Park, father of Jane. He was born around 1800.
