Title: Copy of Birth Certificate
Post by: mightymum on Saturday 27 January 07 22:12 GMT (UK)
Hi All :(

I recently received a copy of my Grt Grandmothers birth certificate from GRO Roscommon, i was hoping to get the address of the family at the time of her birth, but it was not on the certificate ,is this normal for 1882?

it seems that i wasted my money as all the info on it was what i wrote & told them, its just like a copy of exactly what i wrote, only on a certificate.
Does anyone know of a way to find the address?

i know she was born in Moate,Co Westmeath,is there any online census?any help would be appreciated.

The family names are Rooney /Corcoran.

Thanks
MM

Irish certificates for that period will only give a 'street address' if the residence was in a town. If the residence was in the country it will give the townland name. In this case the 'address' is probably a townland called Moate.
