Just wondered if anyone had any similar research.  Leadminers around 1768 onwards.

Yes - I am descended from Sophia Espie b. 1778, parents Wiliam Espie and Mary Johnson.  Married Thomas McDonald of Crawford/Leadhills.

Hi

I would be interested in sharing information.  Are you related to the flying shotts man from ancestry.co.uk?  He is also descended from sophie.

Sorry - have given you mis-information.   Sophia's parents were William Espie and Mary Johnson.  William Espie's parents were George Espie and Mary McCall.

I have been in touch with Flying Scot - We are both descended from sons of Sophia Espie and Thomas McDonald.   Me through the eldest son, William b. 1799 and him through  John b.1806.

I am trying to find Thomas Espie born around 1799, married jane black.  Had children john, jane and james.  John married elizabeth blackweir.  Do you know this info at all?
