Went to Record office today Benjamin Scourfield was not baptised in Llanboidy Parish Church and his children were not Baptised in Llanwinio Parish Church. So the family look like they were non conformists .Id send for Benjamin and Sarahs marriage cert and get Fathers name from that.

Thanks very much for trying the Record Office for me.
I have Benjamin and Sarah's Marriage Certificate. They were married in Clydey, because she was from that area, on 26 Oct 1843 witnessed by David Matthias & Stephen Owen. Benjamin's father was David Scourfield a farmer and Sarah's father was Benjamin Davies a farmer.
Benjamin's son, James was married in Bethlehem Chapel in Carmarthen in 1878. I seem unable to find out who holds these records.
I am grateful for your help.

This looks the right family in 1841
Bankyllain,Llanboidy
H0107/1382
David Scourfield,60,Farmer
Anne Scourfied,65
Anna Scourfield,25
Elizabeth Scourfield,15
Remeber ages are rounded off in 1841
By 1851 looks like David has died as it appears his son David has the Farm
Possible marriage David Scourfield to Anne Owen in Llangan,Carms on 01/10/1797
Will
David Scourfield,Llanboidy,Carms 1847
You can send for a copy of the will from The National Library of Wales they have a website on the internet.I find Wills a great help when you cant find the baptisms. As they generally leave bequests to their children etc.
There are not a lot of non conformists records in the Record Office this is how i am stuck on a few of my Welsh lines.
Must easier if they are Church not Chapel

Just checked on Genuki Carmarthenshire and Llangan and Llanboidy were parishes in the union of Narberth ,Hundred of Derllys, County Carmarthenshire
So the marriage looks right plus i notice one of the witnesses in Benjamins marriage was an Owen so looks good.
