Hi folks,
Any help proving the above connection would be gratefully received.
Possibly my g-grandfather Robert McCord, Sailor, born c1853 Portaferry. His father's name was William, whitesmith by trade later in Belfast.
This find came from 1881 census in Birkenhead where he was on board a ship - SS British King. I know our family's Robert sailed the world and this ship did indeed.
I would like to confirm this Robert from Portaferry had William as his father.
Many thanks

From Ros Davies Co Down website [use google to find] Nicholas McCORD . Ardglass of Ardglass town ; paid 10 shillings as rent to Hon. Edward Ward in 1799 LR 2003 p 45 , could be an earlier relative. Have you exhausted www.familysearch.com. Good Luck Jim
