Title: Dunfermline War Memorial
Post by: boop on Sunday 21 January 07 00:12 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find out if my great uncles name is on the Dunfermline War Memorial. His name was Private  Dugald (Donald) Ferguson  no. 2488 Black Watch and he died in France/Belgium on 9th May June 1915. Does anyone know if there is somewhere online I can look up to see if his name is there. He enlisted in Callander but lived in Dunfermline/Rosyth.

Hi my grandfathers brother John Frail died on the same day as your uncle  9th May 1915, i found his name when i went up to Scotland two years ago and i found him there, i am certain if you look at the website www.cwgc.org. you will see where is buried and i am quite sure if he is there he will be on the memorial in Dunfermline, its in the old Abbey and i was quite surprised to see my grandads brother there so ave a look at that website, John Frail was in the same regiment as your uncle

I expect you know that Dugald is named on the Scottish National War Memorial at Edinburgh?
