Hi all. Would someone be kind enough pls to see if John and Elizabeth/Betty Fitzgerald are in the 1841 Carnmoney census, possibly with children Thomas, Peter, John, Jane and Margaret. Parents would be in their 40's.
Many thanks in advance.
Cheers
Julie :)

No 1841 census for County Antrim unfortuately. There are a few bit of 1851 but not Carnmoney. First complete Co. Antrim census is 1901.
For any hope of information you probably need to start with church records, wills, etc. as civil registration of births and deaths only start 1864 and weren't compulsary until 1870.

Thanks so much for this info - what a bugger. Another thing while I'm on here with you, I'm having trouble finding Carnmoney on a map. I've tried several sites but having no luck. Can you help at all?
I have a Jane Fitzgerald who shows up in the 1871 census as born 1829 Carrickfergus, but I've recently been contacted via rootschat by someone who has her b 1827 Carnmoney.
Cheers

Hi Julie,
John Fitzgerald and Elizabeth (Betty) Wilson were my G-G-G Grandparents. They had another two children you perhaps don't know about, James born in 1820 and Mary Davidson Fitzgerald born in 1822.
John and Betty married in October 1814.
I would be very interested to find out where you fit in, I only have information from Peter, who moved to Scotland.

Hi Andy
How great to hear from you. John and Elizabeth/Betty were my husband Georges 3x great grandparents also. Thanks for those other 2 children by the way, I didn't have them.
George comes down from their daughter Jane b Oct 1827 died Leicester UK 1894. Jane married 03.03.1850 to James Brutnall.
I don't have any parents for John but I have Elizabeth/Betty's parents as Robert Wilson and Margaret Ferguson.
The only other info I have on any of the children is a marriage for Peter 04.03.1855 to Charlotte Ross b 23.07.1833.
Cheers

Hi again Julie,
I've just sent a personal message requesting your e-mail address to send a fairly lengthy chart of the Fitzgeralds.
Cheers,
