Does anyone have informtion on McClenaghan/McClenahans that come from Killevy. My ancestors immigrated to Australia in 1843

Are you sure it's Killevy?, which I presume is in County Armagh?
The reason I ask is that there were/are McClenaghans (various spellings) in and around Killyvalley outside Garvagh. Common names are Jacob, Robert, John, James, Elizabeth, Agnes, Elinor.
If you sau Killevy and Killyvalley there's not much difference and sometimes placenames written down can be difficult to find.
Have lots of records (baptisms from 1796 and marriages from 1799) if you think Killyvalley is a possibility.

Yes I'm sure it's Killevy. They leased land from the Earl of Charlemont at Clougharevan (not sure if thats the right spelling as it seems to vary a lot).

There are families of that name still in the townland in 1864

Thanks for that information tootsiepie. It would be interesting to know if there are still any relatives living in the area
